Getting around Isla Sombra uses several systems: quick travel by bus or by your own vehicle, ferries between islands, and your own boat. As you discover places, buy hideouts and raise local reputation, more quick-travel points become available. Vehicles themselves are on Vehicles, Boats & Watercraft.

Buses
- You need a bus ticket, sold in 28 shops for B20.
- Buses only run between 6:00 and 22:00; they do not run at night (see Day-Night Cycle & Time).
- The bus screen asks you to choose a destination from Towns or Hideouts and shows your cash on hand and the connections.
- Look for new bus stops on the map, and raise reputation in regions where you want more travel points.
- City and port shuttle buses also exist as locations on the map.
Named bus stops
The string table names 13 bus stops. Their map positions are not in the tables.
| Region | Stops |
|---|---|
| Archipelago | Church, Fireplace in the North, Industrial plant, Soccer Field, Village, West Bridge |
| Jungle | Bridge, Western Bridge |
| Paraiso Peninsular | Hotel |
| Slavs Bay | Bridge, Center, Hill |
| Swamps | (stop in the region itself) |
The raw string table spells one of these "Slavs Bay - Ceter"; the English localization export reads "Slavs Bay – Center".
Quick travel with your own vehicle
- Personal land vehicles are the best way to quick travel through areas you have opened up, and buying one unlocks more travel points.
- Editors report that a land vehicle can only travel to other unlocked and unoccupied parking spaces, and that the larger yachts can only travel between piers marked with a white anchor, when unlocked and unoccupied.
- The quick-travel speed multiplier is 8.
Named parking spaces
The game files name these parking spaces. Which are unlocked when is not stored in the tables. The raw string table spells one of them "Slav's bay club".
| Parking space |
|---|
| Basement club |
| Boat dealer |
| Bogdan's workshop |
| Botanist's place |
| Chemical shop |
| Diego's place |
| Docks |
| Furniture store parking |
| Gas station |
| Hotel restaurant |
| Juan's bar |
| Jungle center |
| Llanzo's office |
| Mechanic workshop |
| Peninsula club |
| Peninsula hotel |
| Port police station |
| Sativa producer's store |
| Slavs Bay Club |
Ferries
- A ferryman takes you across for a fare that you pay in cash when you board. If you do not have enough, the game tells you the cost.
- You cannot call the ferry while it is moving. If it is on your side, go to the ferryman.
- The ferry Blueprint's default fare is B50 and it gives you 60 seconds to pay before the ferry leaves. Each placed ferry can override the fare, and editors report fares that vary by route, from about B50 or less up to much higher ones. Individual fares are not in the DataTables.
- Quick-travel road blockades each have a checkpoint chance and an ambush chance, set on the placed blockade, so a trip by road can be stopped. See Wanted Level, Militia Raids & Arrests.

Bus-stop map positions, ferry routes, their exact fares and the blockade chances are placed-actor values that are not in the DataTables or class dumps. Level (map) exports would supply them, or fares can be recorded in game. There is no taxi service: editors confirm the only ways to travel quickly are the bus, ferries and your own vehicles, so the taxi fare flags and the taxi mode in the bus-stop screen code look like leftovers of a cut feature.
